Umata was founded in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with a simple goal: to deliver reliable, high-quality polythene packaging to local businesses. From day one, our focus was on building trust through consistency — one order, one customer at a time.

Building our capabilities
Building Our Capabilities
As demand grew, we invested in a dedicated 3,000 sq. ft. facility in Millaniya and equipped it with a full manufacturing line — mono-layer and 2-layer extrusion, up to 6-colour flexographic printing, and complete finishing capabilities including side seal, bottom seal, and pouch making.

Incorporated as a Private Limited company, UMATA now produces up to 150 tons annually, supplying businesses in healthcare, food, retail, and fabric throughout Sri Lanka.
